Welcome to Burkwood Aquatic ClubWe are parent-run nonprofit organization. We offer a year round swimming program of instruction, training and competition for swimmers ages 4-19 years old. This program strives to instill in young people high self-esteem, personal responsibility, sportsmanship, self-motivation and an understanding of goal setting and achievement; all through the sport of competitive swimming.The BAC swim program is designed with long-term growth progression in mind. The swim groups are set up so swimmers move from one swim group to the next higher performance group as their skills improve and they mature both physically and emotionally. The coaching staff works together to insure the appropriate and smooth transition from one swim group to the next. MORE>> |

SWIM MEETS
Virginia State Championships
A terrific meet for the swim team with excellent competition from PVS teams and one team, Jersey Wahoos, from New Jersey. Highlights include Jonathan Moss' 100 breast win where he secured his second zone cut and second team record. Jesse Burnley recorded a long course national reportable time in the 100 backstroke. Matt Elliott and Wyatt Grubb both made their first zone cuts. Matt in the 200 fly and Wyatt in the 400 IM. Lindsey Jefferson collected her first Age Group Champ cut in the 200 backstroke. Austin Glass made two zone cuts in the 200 back and 400 IM. Shane Condon picked up two more zone cuts in the 200 IM and the 200 FLY! Ben Catanese broke his own team records in the 200 IM and 400 free while Ben Gastrock crushed the boy's team record in the 200 free. Cody Lenart was the most consistent swimmer of the meet with best times in all six events and taking fourth place five times and fifth place one time. Sarah Burnley, Preston Edwards, and Austin Witherow all had perfect meets (all best times)

ODAC 1 mile Ocean Swim Send entries directly to ODAC. Must be received by ODAC by June 9th.
Lynchburg. First draft of entries sent out. Entries due by June 10th.
Summer meet schedule is available on the BAC website. Meet information is available for all meets through the Lynchburg Firecracker Meet on June 26-28.

Parents are doing an amazing job of keeping the BAC area clean. Many thanks to Patty Hogg who stayed hours after the BAC Mother's Day meet was over and throughly cleaning everything. Mother's Day and she was one of the last people left in the buidling on her own day. Amazing. If you would be willing to help out, please sign-up on the form in the lobby or email lmcondon@comcast.net with any dates you can help. Great work keeping the clubhouse clean for our kids!
